Winter Scratch Race 5 1st Sept 2024

Today's course NW winds 8-15 km/hr

Queensland offered idyllic warm and sunny sailing conditions with light northeasterly winds. Although our numbers were somewhat depleted due to Father’s Day, the racing was more relaxed, making for a fun day.

In the One Metre class, there was close competition for first and second place. The standout was Ian, despite withdrawing from the last four races, he still managed to secure third place!

In the DF 65 class, three sailors delayed their Father’s Day activities to race in the morning. Unfortunately, Basil had to retire early due to an injured knee, leaving Bob and Russell in a match race. The match racing was very close, especially at the start line, with Russell taking first place, Bob second, and Basil third.
