IOM & DF65 Winter Series - Scratch Race 4 4th August 2024

Another delightful day at the Manly Marina warm and sunny, with gentle and variable southerly winds. High tide facilitated smooth boat launches and recoveries, making for an enjoyable day of sailing.

As expected, the leading boats were those whose sailors adeptly detected wind shifts early, coupled with a fair share of luck.

Around midday, an onshore thermal wind pattern emerged, ushering in an easterly breeze affectionately known as ‘The Manly Doctor.’ The course was promptly adjusted using the BouyBots, which performed flawlessly throughout the day.

And a heartfelt thanks to the team and scorers for their tireless efforts in running eight races today.
