DF65 Winter Handicap R3 21st July 2024 (Held as part of the Eagleby Cup)
On Sunday, the DF65 Winter Handicap race was incorporated into the Eagleby Cup regatta, held at a new venue with excellent open water conditions.
During the race, westerly winds fluctuated between 10 and 15 km/hr, occasionally gusting up to 30 km/hr. These conditions presented numerous challenges, necessitating multiple “fan dance” sail changes to adapt to wind shifts and waves.
The field showcased many of Australia’s top sailors, and Don Horton’s exceptional performance secured him 4th place.
Congratulations to the Eagleby Radio Yacht Club for hosting this event, and we eagerly await the 2025 Eagleby Cup.
